How to Email a Professor Response

I agree that a student shouldn't send an email with their essay attached saying that they won't be in class. I think if the professor accepts it then the student will think that it is too easy and acceptable to miss a class period that assignments are due. Unless the student notifies the professor beforehand then I feel it is acceptable.
On the otherhand I disagree with always using your college or university email account when emailing professors. For me, using my Gmail account is a lot easier than using my Westminster email account so I feel that if you personal email account shows your full name, "Lauryn Simmons" where it says who it's from then it should be fine to use. As of right now I only use my Westminster email account to look up faculty or staff that don't know me at all just to get their acutal email addresses. As long as I state what I need they have no problem emailing me back to my personal email.
