Job Ad
I chose this job because it has to do with social media. I’m currently taking a PR class and I’m very interested in social media and marketing. I like having blogs and posting on twitter and facebook and I think I would enjoy the job because it sounds like I can just do it from home. It also sounds like a very easy job for right now at least while I’m still in school.
This job is a good fit because I like social media and I like promoting events and just working online. Also, like I said before, it sounds like a job I can do from home and I definitely wouldn’t mind not going into an office. I can just casually do my job whenever during the day.
Well I know that CafĂ© Zupas is a restaurant. I’ve actually never been there before. I’ve heard that it’s pretty good and also I know a person who got food poisoning from there so that kept me away. I have no interest in working for them. I think the general job description sounds like it’s right up my alley, but I definitely don’t want to work for the company.

Team Project Status Report
This Week:
This week Gary Gonzalez and I met with Mark Ferne and interviewed him about our proposal. Mark was very helpful and actually made us believe that our proposal could be approved. He gave us great information and suggested another person that we could meet if we needed more insight. I took notes and typed them up, but once I got Gary’s over email I thought his were better than mine. Also, Sammi Branch and I went over the survey. She wrote most of it up, but I helped her come up with ideas to add or discussed with her to take something out that wasn’t needed in the survey.
Next Week:
Sammi Branch and I will be managing and handing out the survey on campus. We will also go over the results and prepare them for our next group meeting. At the group meeting Gary and I will talk about the information we got from the interview and also Sammi and I will review all the survey answer with everyone in the group. Everyone else will contribute their research that they conducted and then we can move forward to the next step of our project.
Challenges:
The challenge that I’m facing is that my schedule isn’t the most flexible. I haven’t been able to meet with the group outside of class yet because I work every weekend all weekend and the group meets on Sundays.
This is also a challenge for the group because it affects them. They have to go out of their way to email me the information that I missed at the group meeting. Since I can’t attend the group meetings I can’t contribute in the write-ups or even suggest ideas. I have to do everything outside of class and group meetings.
Help:
I don’t think we need any help. We are getting everything done and on time, it just takes us a little longer to figure out who is going to participate in that part of the project.
Team Proposal reflection
This project was my first group project of the semester. I think we were all trying to get in the groove of things and learning how everyone works with each other. We realized that we all get along and that made it easier for group members to feel comfortable to contribute ideas. Also it was easier to let each other know if we wouldn’t be able to make it to meetings.
A challenge that we faced was that not everyone was available to come to group meetings and there were a lot of emails and texts sent between us informing the rest of the group of what was left to be done. We overcome this by group members assigning themselves things to do that needed to get done. This was actually successful for us because then the same people weren’t doing all the work. This was also successful because the people who assigned themselves things to do were able to get them done on their own time instead of always having them done at the group meetings.
Gary Gonzalez and I handled the interview with Mark Ferne. I wrote up some questions, but it was also very late at night that I was writing those questions so I decided to send them to everyone in the group to get some fresh ideas and see if anyone wanted to add more questions. Sammi Branch contributed with some questions for me and Gary to ask Mark and that was helpful. Also, Sammi and I worked on a survey for our project. She wrote most of it and then she had some questions of what she should and shouldn’t include and I helped her come up with some ideas. I was successful because my contributions I was able to do them on my own time. Gary and I actually did the interview with Mark a week before it was due because we both had time during the day.
I think our group needed a team leader. No one really stepped up and became a leader so we were all kind of passive about it. We were passive about who should do what which lead to us doing some things on our own. This means that we had an organization issue with our project. No one could take a stand of what they actually wanted to do for the project and so we had to figure it out along the way instead of just knowing what we each had to do and do it.
I know this always happens within a group that people will do more than others, but I think we did a good job at balancing everything out. It did turn out where some people did more than others, but I don’t feel like people were doing too much more than the others.
I really liked the group I worked with. I think Gary, Brendan, Sammi, and Lexie are really on top of their priorities and they were really helpful when I couldn’t make it to the group meetings. They were also helpful with ideas and whenever I asked for help they were quick and willing to help. Like I said it would be nice to have someone step up and take the lead and help guide the group. I would work with them again.
Pipher questions
1. 1. A good friend can provoke all three emotions. A good friend is someone who you can laugh with and laugh at, cry with, and someone you can open your heart to.
2. 2. The points I try to make to the people that I love is that I want them to know that I really do love them.
3. 3. Usually I’m kept up at night because I’m reflecting on my day and what happened during the day. I think about who I interacted with or something interesting that happened in class. Also I think about good times with friends from the past. I like thinking about things that make me happy when falling asleep otherwise I can’t fall asleep.
4. 4. I know life is true. I don’t really know how to explain that but everything that happens is life is for a purpose.
5. 5. Evil is a strong word. I don’t know much about evil because I’ve never faced evil. I do believe that people can be considered “bad people” and I think that is a step towards evil.
6. 6. There are so many things that I consider beautiful. Nature is beautiful. Although I really dislike the Utah weather sometimes, the mountains are beautiful and I could look at them for the rest of my life if I wanted to. Art is beautiful because people create art to show the beauty in their subject. The artist wants everyone to see the beauty that they see in that subject. Lastly, music is beautiful. If we didn’t have music I don’t know what our world would be like. Yeah, some music is bad and not enjoyable, but it’s there and we’re able to listen to its beauty.
7. 7. I respect most in others when they respect themselves, their surroundings and me. I don’t respect people when they can’t respect themselves and let themselves be taken advantage.
8. 8. The world excites my curiosity. I really want to travel and see the world. I’m excited and curious to see what it has to offer me.
9. 9. I’d probably try to cure world hunger.
10. 10. I want to climb an amazing mountain or cliff somewhere in the world and then sit on top of it and just admire the beauty all around me.
